That’s a huge milestone for many reasons and right at the top of the list for both of us - it means freedom.
Jordi won’t have to ask to go to the gym anymore, he can just go. And I’ll have less evening drives and more time for hot yoga and I might even get myself a gym membership.
So I guess freedom = more working out for both of us.
The timing of this also marks a huge work transition for me which has been in the making for a while.
I’ll share the details in a future post. Today I want to reflect a little on the path to get here…
In 2015 I set out on my entrepreneurial journey after 13 years at Microsoft, the majority of my decision to leave was fueled by corporate grind burnout, I was also just ready for a new adventure.
At first I didn’t know where to start, but I quickly learned that people wanted to hire me for marketing.
So for the last 9 years I worked on growing my companies and made it to the Inc 5000 list, grew over 800 client businesses, and helped companies generate $175M+ in revenue.
My favorite part of all of this has been showing my son there’s another way to do business - you can carve your own path.
I will miss our talks in the car, which were probably not the typical conversations… we talked business. Business valuation, buying businesses, discussing products he can sell, how to negotiate deals - his advice was invaluable. A great little negotiator.
And as for my new venture, it probably comes as no surprise - I’m growing businesses. It’s what I do. The difference now is that I’m stepping into the CEO role and partnering with the best of the best growth marketers to deliver results as I’ve seen them do consistently over the years.
So, while Jordi is off driving today, I’m doing what I love doing - growing Vital Velociti. We’re 2 weeks in and already at half-capacity so I’m getting ready to think about hiring.
So new chapter - yes - but not much changes except I'll have more autonomy wearing the CEO hat, oh and hopefully more muscle-tone.
